Raccoon Removal

Raccoon removal from your attic, roof or yard is especially important in urban areas and in rural areas where they will prey on small domestic animals and on crops. Raccoons are, in most cases, nocturnal. They leave large trails within the attic insulation, leave larger droppings, somewhat similar to a dog’s and in most cases leave some form of damage to their entry point that can be easily viewed from the outside. They often have 3-5 babies in the attic area which need to be manually extracted and transported to a licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator.

The increasing number of raccoons in urban areas is a direct result from humans feeding them

A major cause of home and attic damage, raccoons in Central Florida are always on the lookout for a great place to live and your attic is just right. Attics provide a dry, warm, safe shelter for raccoons to raise their young. Raccoons enter your home by prying open areas in soffits and vents and, once inside, the damage begins. Destruction of duct work, insulation, wiring, and wood often takes place, as well as damage to personal belongings stored in the attic. Your attic has also become an indoor toilet for your new tenants who leave behind urine and droppings.

Raccoon removal is important because they can cause quite a bit of damage when they live in an attic. Not only do they urinate and defecate in the attic, but they can bring in a host of parasites (fleas, ticks, mites, and lice) and diseases (raccoon roundworm, leptospirosis, etc). They often tear apart ductwork, rip insulation off of pipes, gnaw on wires, and trample down the insulation, lowering its R-value effectiveness.

Raccoon Removal Services

ACM offers comprehensive services to remove a nuisance raccoon from your attic or interior of home and businesses. In addition, we offer humane trapping services for customers experiencing problems with wild raccoons on their property.

Raccoon Exclusion Services

Perhaps the most important service related to raccoon removal is our ability to prevent raccoons from returning to your home or business. We accomplish this by making structural repairs or additions to remove the opportunity for raccoons to enter a building. In cases where racoons have already taken up residence, our biological clean-up process will eliminate the scent markings animals use to communicate, thus removing any attraction for future animals to find ways to enter a contaminated space.

Deodorization & Disinfection: Once all insulation, fecal matter, and debris is removed we follow through with our bacterial enzyme fogging. We fog the attic with a special enzyme-based cleaner that kills 99.9% of germs, bacteria, & parasites, also destroying any organic matter such as urine or animal oils. (Fogging is not harmful to humans and pets)

If your property has had an animal living in the attic space whether it was a bat, raccoon, squirrel, rat, or any other animal it is very important to understand the health risks the fecal matter left behind by these animals pose to you and the others within the living space. Any animal stool should be treated as hazardous waste. Please refer to the Florida Dept of Health Dangerous Feces Page.

Professional Insulation Removal is something that Florida ACM takes very seriously. Our technicians have developed a safe, effective procedure for removing fecal matter and soiled insulation from attics or crawlspaces. Using commercial insulation removal equipment we are able to remove all of the insulation in an attic WITHOUT any of it traveling through the living space of the home. Removal of Attic Insulation this way ensures that none of the dust, debris or animal feces in the attic makes its way down into your house. This is the safest and most practical way to remove old insulation from an attic.

From start to finish you can count on our team. We will work quickly to ensure that all raccoons have been removed from your residence, and we will implement methods that will effectively keep them from entering your home in the future. You will also be happy to know that our techniques are humane.
